PAYMENT & INSURANCE INFORMATION
Clarity Counseling & Coaching is a private-pay practice. Payment is due at the time of your session. Many clients choose private pay because it offers greater privacy, flexibility in treatment, and removes the limitations that insurance companies often place on mental health care. Please continue below for other options and information.
Out-of-Network Insurance Reimbursement
Although Clarity Counseling & Coaching is not in-network with any insurance companies, many health insurance plans include out-of-network mental health benefits.
After each appointment, you'll receive an invoice or superbill (itemized session invoice) that you can submit directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Because every insurance plan is different, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider before your first appointment and ask:
-
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
-
What is my deductible?
-
What percentage of each session will be reimbursed after my deductible is met?
-
Is preauthorization required?
-
How do I submit a Superbill for reimbursement?
Please note that reimbursement is determined solely by your insurance company and cannot be guaranteed.
Sliding Scale Through Open Path Collective
Clarity Counseling & Coaching is proud to partner with Open Path Collective, a nonprofit network that connects individuals and families with affordable mental health care. Clients who become Open Path members may be eligible for reduced-fee counseling sessions based on Open Path's membership guidelines. If cost is a concern, Open Path may be an excellent option for receiving quality therapy at a more affordable rate.
Need to Use Your Insurance?
If using your in-network insurance benefits is your highest priority, I suggest considering Headway Mental Healthcare, an insurance billing platform that works with many major insurance plans.
If your insurance is accepted through Headway, you may choose to select a clinician through that platform instead.
Why Private Pay?
Private pay allows therapy to remain centered on your goals - not the requirements of an insurance company. It offers:
-
Greater privacy and confidentiality
-
No required mental health diagnosis solely for insurance purposes
-
Treatment based on your needs rather than insurance limitations
-
More flexibility in the frequency and length of sessions
-
Greater continuity of care
